I had the good fortune to take foil and then two semesters of Sabre from Maestro Michael D&#8217;Asaro. I enjoyed Sabre fencing a great deal and in my final years at San Jose State while living in Palo Alto I would fence once a week at Stanford in Roble Hall where their team hosted an open fencing night.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taekwondo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"World Taekondo Federation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wtf.org\/wtf_eng\/main\/main_eng.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-998\" title=\"wtf\" src=\"http:\/\/mseanbrowne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/wtf.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mseanbrowne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/wtf.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mseanbrowne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/wtf-300x50.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I studied WTF Style Taekwondo under Tom Marendi attaining the rank of Second Dan or Second Degree Blackbelt. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wtf.org\/wtf_eng\/main\/main_eng.html\">World Taekwondo Federation<\/a> is the International Federation governing body for the sport of Taekwondo and is a member of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mseanbrowne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/esklogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1034\" title=\"esklogo\" src=\"http:\/\/mseanbrowne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/esklogo-300x256.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mseanbrowne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/esklogo-300x256.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mseanbrowne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/esklogo-1024x875.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mseanbrowne.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/esklogo.jpg 1650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inayan Eskrima<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eskrima\u00a0 is the umbrella term for the traditional martial arts of the Philippines, which emphasize weapon-based fighting with sticks, knives and other bladed weapons, and various improvised weapons. It also includes hand-to-hand combat and weapon disarming techniques. After attending several seminars from various instructors I began training with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.Inayan-Eskrima.com\">Inayan School of Eskrima<\/a>. Founded by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mangisursuro.com\/\">Suro Mike Inay<\/a> who trained under <a title=\"Angel Cabales\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usadojo.com\/biographies\/angel-cabales.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Angel Cabales<\/a> and <a title=\"Max Sarmiento\" href=\"http:\/\/www.inayan.eu\/LINEAGE.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Max Sarmiento<\/a>.\u00a0 I attained first rank in the Inayan System under the training of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myfma.net\/profile\/CoryHanosh\">Guro Corey Hanosh<\/a>.
